10 Play updates app

10 updates app on Apple TV, Amazon’s FireTV, FireTV Stick Lite & Android TV.

10 Play has updated its app on Apple TV, Amazon’s FireTV and FireTV Stick Lite and Android TV.

According to 10,  the new app has “visually rich and editorially curated navigation features. And, with compulsory login, it also sharpens the data opportunities across the platform and increases our addressable footprint for advertisers.”

Network 10’s General Manager – Digital, Liz Baldwin, said: “Streaming continues to be a priority for 10 ViacomCBS as more and more people extend their consumption choices to include digital platforms, an area in which we continue to invest.

“The roll out and unification of the new 10 Play app across Apple TV, Amazon’s FireTV and FireTV Stick Lite and Android TV enables us to continue creating deeper relationships with our audience. We’re seeing it in the numbers.”

The latest roll out follows the launch of the app experience on Telstra TV in May this year, lifting total video consumption by 63% and total visits by 14%.

The new app includes the Australian-first Premium Pause ad product which offers advertisers an innovative, immersive and non-intrusive way to engage with audiences with key brand messages on BVOD.

10 Play is achieving its biggest year ever, with minutes viewed up 18% year-to-date. The platform is currently home to six of the top 15 local series on BVOD including MasterChef Australia, Australian Survivor, Bachelor In Paradise, Neighbours, I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! and The Bachelor Australia.

  1. Very happy about this. 10 Play was long the best of the commercial FTA catch-up’s in terms of usability, but it had fallen behind Nine and Seven in recent times. Seven’s offering in particular has gone from being woeful to brilliant in next to no time.

  2. The update on Apple TV is horrible. If you pause for a few minutes and the Apple TV Screensaver comes on you have to start the video again from the start. If you try and skip forward a few seconds like every other app, it just starts fast forwarding at a million miles an hour and you can’t stop it.
    Needs a bit of work!!
