2020 Federal Budget on ABC

Live coverage of Budget night next Tuesday from 7:30pm on ABC.

ABC will cover Federal Budget night next Tuesday from 7:30pm as the Treasurer Josh Frydenberg hands down his budget Live from Canberra.

From 8pm (AEDT), join Leigh Sales for live coverage of the budget announcement and interviews with the Treasurer and Shadow Treasurer.

Leigh will be joined on the night by Host of ABC TV’s Insiders program David Speers, ABC’s Political Editor Andrew Probyn and 7.30’s Chief Political Correspondent Laura Tingle, bringing you the best coverage, analysis and commentary.

Special guests include: Chris Richardson from Deloitte Access Economics; Julia Lee from Burman Invest; Jennifer Westacott, CEO of the Business Council of Australia; Michele O’Neil, ACTU President; and Professor Ngiare Brown, Commissioner of the National Mental Health Commission.

And there’ll be special segments from Inga Ting and Casey Briggs looking at the data behind the budget numbers and the economic impact of COVID-19.

The reaction to Budget 2020 continues from 9pm (AEDT) with extended analysis by David Speers, Annabel Crabb, Shalailah Medhora, Jeremy Fernandez and special guests from the welfare, tourism and business sectors.

At 9:30pm (AEDT) the coverage continues on ABC NEWS Channel with Jeremy gauging community reaction from Western Sydney followed at 9:45pm (AEDT) by Elysse Morgan with a special edition of The Business. Elysse speaks to Romilly Madew, CEO of Infrastructure Australia and economist Andrew Charlton.

The ABC will also broadcast Opposition Leader Anthony Albanese’s Budget Reply speech at 7:30pm (AEDT) on Thursday 8 October.
