Episode One: The Incas
The Incas appeared out of nowhere, and within a few decades, their empire developed into the largest empire in the world at that time. They ruled over more than a good 10 million people. In Europe, there is talk of a legendary gold country. Gold, the ‘tears of the sun’, had exclusively spiritual value and no material value whatsoever for the Incas.

Nobody’s civilization just appears-there were many groups in South/Central America for thousands of years prior to the last 2 ‘biggies’ at the time of the Aztecs and Incas meeting the Spanish (and small pox!).
