  1. Why wasn’t the Brownlow Medal kept tonight as normal? I know there’s still The Block and the count would still be weird with all virtual, no Crown Casino and red carpet, but surely a better chance when The Block isn’t as high and when viewers expect the Brownlow?

I have a feeling this was a Seven push for SAS Australia??

    1. I didn’t even realise it had been moved to Sunday night until about half way through the count, at which point the winner looked to be locked in so I didn’t stay with it. I must say moving the Brownlow to a Sunday night seems silly to me. Those of us that follow the game know it’s always the Monday night before the grand final, so I wonder how many others also didn’t realise it had been brought forward one night.

      1. It was announced it would be on a Sunday months ago; when they announced the new dates for the finals.

Anyone following the football closely would’ve been across this as it was fairly well publicised across all forms of media in the weeks leading up to it.

    2. I think AFL decided to air Brownlow Medal on Sunday night so that they not want to clash with premiere of SASA. I get the feeling that there’s no Red Carpet this year as it goes virtual.
Tonights Dally M Medal (NRL version) will have a similar format to Brownlow Medal. I believe that they won’t have a Red Carpet special. The Fox hosts will present the awards from the Fox Sports HQ and filmed live so players, coaches and fans will get updates on screens

    1. It’s better than a lot of movies do these days, even some FTA premieres, surprising too as it didn’t air until after 10pm in Melbourne (maybe needs adjusting)
