Days of Our Lives halts after positive COVID test

US soap halts production for 2 weeks after member of the production team tests positive.

US soap Days of Our Lives is shutting down for two weeks after a member of the production team tested positive for COVID-19.

Hollywood Reporter notes the soap will pause filming until Oct. 26 following the positive test, which came as part of the show’s testing protocol. The person who tested positive is now in isolation, and people who had close contact with the person are also quarantining.

But the show’s broadcast schedule won’t be affected.

Days resumed filming on September 1st, making it the last of the four US daytime soaps to resume.

However Days also had many more episodes already in the can than The Young and the Restless, The Bold and the Beautiful and General Hospital.

Other US shows that have paused filming after a positive test include All American, For Life, Young Sheldon and Chicago Med. Several series that film in Vancouver also had to stop production briefly due to a testing backlog.

Days of Our Lives screens in Australia on FOX One and 9GEM.
