In the Drunk History Australia season finale next Monday, Steph Tisdell tipsily tells a tale of love, adventure and swimming across shark-infested waters.
This is the story of Mary Ann Bugg, our first Indigenous Australian female bushranger.
Alongside partner in crime Captain Thunderbolt, they were Australia’s very own Bonnie and Clyde. But it wasn’t until Thunderbolt found himself behind bars, that Mary Ann really made a name for herself: swimming to Cockatoo Island to break him out of prison. And we can count on Natasha Wanganeen and Grant Denyer, to bring this dynamic duo to life.
At the end of World War II, Australia had tough restrictions on the sale of alcohol after 6pm. Seeing a gap in the market, Abe Saffron started a sly grog trade through a nightclub called The Roosevelt in Sydney’s Kings Cross.
But that wasn’t all Abe was trading in… if you know what we mean *wink-wink*. This is the story of the original King of the Cross, as told by Brendan Fevola, with appearances from Les Hill and Costa Georgiadis.
Monday, 26 October at 9.40pm on 10.

Looks like some great fun…hopefully they renew it for (maybe for 2022?), seeing it might even give Grant a show to cameo in for the time being.
I’ve really enjoyed Drunk History. I really hope there’s a second season.
Likewise….the story telling is so well done and acted out….
