Guesswork appoints Head of Scripted

Guesswork Television (Rosehaven, Please Like Me, Frayed, Hard Quiz, The Weekly) has appointed Tanya Phegan as Head of Scripted.

She joins from Easy Tiger, where she has been Senior Development Producer for more than three years and previously Head Of Television at Porchlight Films as co-creator and Producer of ABC drama Operation Buffalo.

She will now be responsible for overseeing the development and production of Guesswork’s scripted slate, working with Managing Director Jon Casimir, Head of Production Frank Bruzzese and General Manager Heather Pritchard.

Jon Casimir said, “2020 has been a rewarding year, but more challenging than any of us thought possible. I’m thrilled to be ending it on such a positive note, welcoming an exciting new voice to our company.

“Tanya’s experience and skillset make her the perfect fit for the busy year in front of us.”

In June Todd Abbott departed as Creative Director at Guesswork to join ABC.

Tanya worked for over a decade in the UK and US in international development, production and acquisitions. In the UK she held roles at Universal Pictures, BBC Films and DNA Films/Fox Searchlight. She developed projects with the UK’s top creative talent, working on films including The Last King Of Scotland, 28 Weeks Later, Dredd, The History Boys, Never Let Me Go, Sunshine, Notes On A Scandal, Far From The Madding Crowd and 360°. In the US, Tanya curated ‘Your Film Festival’ with YouTube/Scott Free, with the winner creating a new work produced by Ridley Scott and Michael Fassbender.

Guesswork is part of the Token Group, which includes Token Artists, Token Events and Creative Representation. It has offices in Melbourne and Sydney and was the 2018 SPA Production Business Of The Year.
