New entries pivot into ratings week

Ratings: Gruen led new entries last week, but AFL Finals pushed Seven to a win.

Several new and returning titles made their way into the ratings ladder last week.

ABC’s Gruen was the highest new entry at 934,000 viewers, up on last year’s season premiere of

Travel special Cruising the Biggest Storm for Seven was next -both are produced by CJZ.

Junior MasterChef, Restoration Australia, Big Weather, Victoria, Scottish Vets Down Under, Maddie & the Monster and Australia Come Fly with Me were all new or returning last week.

But the AFL Finals surged for Seven late in the week to drive them to another win.

Seven won 16-39 but Nine took out 25-54 demos.

Nine led on Sunday – Wednesday. Seven claimed Thursday – Saturday. ABC bettered 10 on Wednesday, Friday & Saturday.

Seven was victorious in Melbourne, Adelaide & Perth. Nine won Sydney & Brissy.

Best brands last week were:

Seven: Seven’s AFL (1.14m), Seven News (958,000), Cruising the Biggest Storm (658,000) and Home & Away (511,000).

Nine: The Block (Room Winner: 1.13m), Nine News (Sun: 912,000), A Current Affair (695,000) and 60 Minutes (656,000).

ABC: Gruen (934,000), Hard Quiz (757,000), ABC News (695,000) and Australian Story (621,000).

10: Gogglebox (661,000), Have You Been Paying Attention? (628,000), Junior MasterChef (Tues: 576,000) and The Bachelorette (Wed: 468,000).

SBS: Walking Britain’s Roman Roads (233,000), Australia Come Fly With Me (230,000), How the Victorians Built Britain (206,000) and Every Family Has a Secret (198,000).
