Karate Kid revival Cobra Kai has been renewed for a fourth season at Netflix.

The series picks up 30 years after the 1984 All Valley Karate Tournament of the original films, and dives back into the reignited rivalry between Ralph Macchio’s Daniel LaRusso and William Zabka’s Johnny Lawrence.

The show started its run at YouTube Premium before moving to Netflix for its third season. Variety notes the first two seasons are currently streaming and have proven to be popular, breaking into Nielsen’s weekly top 10 streaming ratings at No. 2 for the week of Aug. 24.

Season 3 will premiere on Netflix in January.

  1. We recently binged the two seasons on Netflix, not really expecting to like it but actually loved it. It would have been too easy to have kept La Russo as the golden child and Lawrence as the stereotypical baddie but they masterfully flipped the script on who played what roles and made a much better show for it.
