Scientology doco back in the news

A Scientology documentary produced by Seven News mysteriously surfaced on a US website before being taken down.

“Scientology: Black Ops” investigated by Bryan Semour, was due to screen on 7Plus and in July, but was dropped, along with all promo material.

Seven confirmed at the time the change was due to legal concerns, while US actress Leah Remini (King of Queens), who created the Emmy-winning A&E series Leah Remini: Scientology and the Aftermath and was interviewed for the series, took to social media to question the move.

The Australian today reports it suddenly bizarrely popped up on a US anti-Scientology website.

But it was taken down last week after legal letters from both Seven and senior Scientology figures.

It isn’t clear if the footage will see the light of day on Seven sites.

Cue the conspiracy theories…

  1. Leah’s show ran for 3 seasons why is Scientology worried about a one off documentary series? I can’t imagine these shows have any more to say that hasn’t already been said.
