The second Presidential Debate between President Donald Trump and former Vice President Joe Biden has officially been cancelled.
But Trump declined to participate in a virtual debate planned by the Commission on Presidential Debates, following his COVID-19 positive result.
“It is now apparent there will be no debate on October 15, and the CPD will turn its attention to preparations for the final presidential debate scheduled for October 22,” the CPD said in a statement.
Trump campaign spokesperson Tim Murtaugh said they still want 3 debates, and suggested holding a final debate on Oct. 29.
Meanwhile ABC News said it intends to hold a ‘town hall’ forum with Biden on Thursday October 15 – the same night the second debate was due. NBC News is among the news outlets exploring the possibility of holding a similar event with Trump.
