A Current Affair hearts Melbourne

"I haven't flown for 12 months," says Tracy Grimshaw during a symbolic move with a Melbourne broadcast.

In a symbolic move, A Current Affair presented from Melbourne last night, following a 4 month lockdown.

Tracy Grimshaw hosted live from Transit Bar at Federation Square.

“I haven’t flown for 12 months,” she said. “I haven’t been to the airport for 12 months because we’ve been in bushfires this time last year and obviously COVID hit… it’s decades since that’s happened (for me).”

In a Sydney interview Qantas boss Alan Joyce told her the Melbourne – Sydney leg is the second busiest route in the world. he also said a vaccine will be a condition of travel as soon as it is widely available.

“For international travellers, we will ask people to have a vaccination before they get on the aircraft,’’ he said.

“Certainly, for international visitors coming out and people leaving the country we think that’s a necessity.”
