Airdate: Good Onya Mate: A Rural Aid Concert

Nine will broadcast another Rural Aid concert later this month, to be hosted by the Today team at Bella Vista Farm in Sydney.

Performers for the Good OnYa Mate: A Rural Aid Concert include Jimmy Barnes, Birds Of Tokyo, Guy Sebastian, Jessica Mauboy, Vera Blue, Kate Ceberano, Natalie Bassingthwiate, Dami Im, Casey Donovan, Lee Kernaghan, Isaiah Firebrace, Chris Sebastian and more.

“The Stronger Futures program is our plan to enable resilient and sustainable rural communities to thrive into the future,” CEO of Rural Aid, John Walters, said.

“The money raised will underpin our rural counselling services because one conversation at the right time, with the right person, can change everything. It will allow Rural Aid to continue its community building – to work with towns to bring their renewal projects to life.”

The star-studded concert will raise money for Rural Aid and say “Good Onya Mate” to our Aussie farmers who have survived drought, bushfire, floods and COVID-19. These challenges create financial, emotional and practical hurdles for this crucial sector of our community and economy – the people who put food on our tables and clothes on our back.

The concert will be packed with incredible performances and will also include heartfelt stories of farmers who have benefited from Rural Aid’s assistance.

Performing on the night will be Jimmy Barnes, Birds Of Tokyo, Guy Sebastian, Jessica Mauboy, Vera Blue, Kate Ceberano, Natalie Bassingthwiate, Dami Im, Casey Donovan, Mick Lindsay, Lee Kernaghan, Isaiah Firebrace, Chris Sebastian, Timothy and Clare Bowen, Travis Collins, Mike Waters, Darlinghurst and Ballpark Music with more exciting names to be announced.

Jimmy Barnes said “A big shout out to everybody in our rural communities on our farms. Drought, COVID-19 and recession have really taken its toll. It’s really difficult and we are thinking about you”.

Donations made during the concert will go to supporting farmers across Australia through Rural Aid’s new Stronger Futures program, which is dedicated to helping farmers develop strong and sustainable futures for their families and local communities, as well as Rural Aid’s disaster assistance program.

Karl Stefanovic, Allison Langdon, Richard Wilkins, Erin Molan, Brooke Boney and Alex Cullen will host the concert from the beautiful Bella Vista Farm in Sydney.
