  1. Hello Will. I already got real. Really really real about the results of this election and the affect it will have on Australia. Not sure about your tenuous connection of Halloween to an interest in the US elections- you do know Halloween celebrations go way back further than the USA and have been popular in Celtic and Gaelic folklore for centuries? So what if our kids have a newish reason for a bit of fun particularly these days. As for ‘Americans don’t even know where Australia is…’ gosh, let’s teach them a lesson and show no interest in their election!

    1. Hi Gra Gra
Yes. Celtic and Gaelic folklore is all about the dead spirits to gain vengeance on their enemies on All Hallows Eve. This was their last chance before they could move on to another world. Christian scriptures do not allow for such pagan actions. The American version of Halloween is a good opportunity for commerce to become rich by flogging lollies to families and kids. It may be fun for the kids but it can be a real problem for households that do not want to participate, I guess Trump is on of the original pagans.

  2. Welcome to Australia, the 51st state of the USA. Why is this obsession with the election. The ABC and the commercial channels have made Wednesday the day that Australian content is extinguished. Not only do we embrace Halloween which is an American holiday but now we are supposed to care if Trump wins or not. Get real please. Americans don’t even know where Australia is.

    1. Come in Will, “The USA” has been the best dramedy I’ve ever seen.

But aside from it being entertaining, it absolutely effects us and is something we should care about. Trump has a tanty and the ASX drops. Your superannuation drops. China flexes. Trade fluctuates. We’re intertwined whether you like it or not.

I know it’s overwhelming, but you’re welcome to watch something on demand. I’m keen for the networks to cover it as much as possible, especially Chas & John.
