Friends reunion resets for 2021

Long-awaited reunion will keep us waiting longer, due to circumstances stateside.

That long-awaited Friends reunion has now moved to a 2021 production, with star Matthew Perry suggesting a March date.

That will be a year after it was originally planned, due to COVID impacting on the ability for full live audiences in the US.

It has been rescheduled several times, but unable to proceed, with cast and producers adamant it should have an audience on the show’s original soundstage, Stage 24. Well we’ve waited this long…

Variety reports no precise dates have been determined for shooting, but that early 2021 is indeed the target time frame.

The reunion was supposed to be coincide with HBO Max’s launch in the US, but that took place in May.

There are currently no plans to screen the special in Australia due to international rights, but that was also the case with a West Wing reunion which magically happened, so fingers crossed…
