Georgia wins Junior MasterChef 2020

Talented 11 year old takes out the 2020 trophy and a $25,000 prize.

11 year old Georgia has won Junior MasterChef for 2020.

The youngest of the three finalists, she beat 12 year old Filo and Carter to take out the trophy and a $25,000 trust prize.

10’s Grand Final went out in style with a Live orchestra playing across much of the episode, with their three mothers watching on from the gantry.

All three had to cook a two course meal.

But it was Georgia’s Sri Lankan curries and a “tropical mess” of toasted coconut ice cream slice -salvaged from a near disaster- that won over the judges.

“I honestly thought that dessert was the one thing… I was really worried,” she said.

Carter and Filo both won $5,000 as runners-up to go towards their food dream.

10’s series, belatedly commissioned due to COVID impacting other productions, was full of heart, camaraderie and dishes that put “adult” cooking to shame (looking at you Plate of Origin).

The series hasn’t been announced for 2021, but filming on MasterChef‘s main event is getting underway.

  1. Georgia was on of my favourites from the beginning. She is just adorable and well done to the 3 finalists who cooked some lovely food last night.
Not sure weather is was a hindrance having there mums there but you could tell the kids just didn’t want there mums embarrassing them.
The judges were so good with them all.
Good series to watch, the kids were supportive of each other, they made us laugh and cry.

  2. Congrats to Georgia, and all the other kids who participated in this very enjoyable show. Does it not prove that we do not need drama, back-stabbing, tantrums etc to make great entertaining television?

  3. Congratulations to Georgia. And I’m so glad Filo and Carter didn’t go home empty-handed. I’ve really enjoyed Junior Masterchef. All the kids have been so talented and the judges have been amazing with them too. I really hope there’s are second season.
