Jacinta Stapleton returning to Neighbours

Amy Greenwood is back to Erinsborough next month.

Actress Jacinta Stapleton is returning to Neighbours, for the first time in 15 years.

For much of her run from 1997 – 2000 her character Amy Greenwood was in a relationship with Lance Wilkinson (Andrew Bibby) and living in ‘The House of Trouser.’ But after a split she then had a relationship with flight attendant Damien Smith (John Ridley), eventually eloping together.

Stapleton returned briefly for a 2005 Neighbours anniversary.

Next month Amy will reappear, working in the fashion industry and turning up when a call for a new Lassiters uniform design goes out.

“As Amy Greenwood has always held a fond place in my heart, to reprise her 20 years later feels like a gift that rarely happens in one’s career,” said Stapleton.

“She’s effusive and flamboyant and joyous to play. Her time back in Erinsborough will see her experience everything from friendship to drama, to romance and heartbreak. It’s quite the ride.”

Executive producer Jason Herbison added, “Amy Greenwood is a heritage character I’ve wanted to reprise for a long time because she is so unpredictable and great fun, and I’m thrilled Jacinta was available for this guest part – she has slipped back into the role effortlessly.

“Amy is set to raise some eyebrows on Ramsay Street but also win a lot of hearts.”

  1. Seen this on social media and it took a while to register who she was in posts without the character bio. She sported a cute bob haircut when last on screen, so looks completely different in the pic. She was part of the gang that included Billy, Toadie, Anne (Brooke Satchwell) and Lance. A future reunion with her and Anne on Ramsay Street would be a nice touch.
