It’s official.
ABC drama Jack Irish is returning in 2021 for its final season.
Rumours have been swirling around the Guy Pearce drama resuming, but awaiting a production greenlight due to the COVID lockdown in Melbourne.
Yesterday Sally Riley, ABC Head of Scripted Production, confirmed to Media Mentors Running Free panel, “We have Jack Irish coming back for the final season.”
She also confirmed ABC Upfronts on November 25 would list Wakefield, Harrow‘s third season Here Out West, and the previously-announced The Newsreader which is about start shooting in Melbourne.
Produced by Easy Tiger, Jack Irish has previously had 3 telemovies and two seasons, also featuring Marta Dusseldorp.

I loved this show, it has a top notch Aussie cast and I’m glad its getting a final hurrah.
Really pleased to see this, I wondered when/if I’d see cameras in my neck of the woods again. Minor correction too, David: third season for Harrow.
