Nine draws bumper Wednesday share

Ratings: Nine eclipses a 40% share as Origin sets a decider. Bluey's big success in 3 cities.

State of Origin is set for a thrilling decider after the NSW Blues downed the Qld Maroons last night.

Game II was #1 for the night at 1.65m viewers, up slightly on Game I at 1.6m.

There were 739,000 viewers in Sydney followed by 561,000 in Brisbane.

But the audience was again down on 2019’s Game II of 1.96m viewers, in the context of 2020’s curveball year.

ABC was the only network to offer any serious alternative last night.

7:30 drew 643,000 then Hard Quiz (610,000), Jamie’s Quick & Easy Foods (272,000 / 228,000), My Houseful Of Animals (236,000) and Walking Britain’s Roman Roads (180,000).

Gruen led in entertainment at 627,000. Elsewhere were Reputation Rehab (397,000), Britain’s Got Talent (186,000), The Masked Singer USA and The Royals And The Tabloids (both on just 125,000).

Nine network easily won Wednesday with 40.9% then Seven 21.0%, ABC 18.4%, 10 13.2% and SBS 6.5%.

Nine News was 806,000 / 771,000 for Nine with Hot Seat on 396,000 / 268,000 (in 4 cities).

Seven News won its slot at 1.02m / 1.02m for Seven. Home and Away was 505,000 and The Chase drew 500,000 / 313,000.

ABC News was 686,000 for ABC. Planet America (370,000) and The Drum (171,000) followed.

The Project drew for 403,000 / 257,000 10. 10 News First pulled 311,000 / 203,000 with Bull on 135,000.

On SBS it was SBS World News (164,000), Untold Australia (95,000) and Mastermind (69,000).

Bluey was high at 416,000 on ABC KIDS -making it the 4th best show in Adelaide all day, and Top 10 in Brisbane and Perth.

  1. David would like to know what was the Ratings for Nine’s The Sporting Bubble after the Origin Match?
    It was on too late and had an effect.

  2. I find it ridiculous that Bluey is even in the ratings system. It’s embarrassing. I really do think these coded boxes need to be changed to new people, it’s always just the same old. Everyone watches the news and Bluey. Time for a change up !
