SBS on Demand: The Agent, Amsterdam Vice

South African sport drama The Agent plus Dutch crime drama Amsterdam Vice both premiere at SBS on Demand this Thursday, 26th November.

The Agent
All thirteen episodes available to stream. In English, Zulu, and Xhosa with English subtitles.

The Agent showcases ‘the business end’ of soccer, as seen through the eyes of a mercurial, charismatic football agent and former professional football player, wrestling with a fatal secret he buried six years ago, on the brink of breaking big or losing everything.

Hot-shot soccer agent Slindile ‘Blaze’ Magoba (Khumbulani Kay Sibiya) has 18-hours before the transfer window shuts to save his football agency from the axe and his clients from being poached by a ruthless rival agent. He juggles this while trying to make sense of a drunken and passionate one-night stand with a female detective. She could threaten a secret he buried with his star client, six years ago.
The series is a fun, light hearted look into the glamourous world of football and football agents.

Amsterdam Vice
All eight episodes available to stream. In Dutch with English subtitles.

Amsterdam, 1980. It is a time of social change. Right in the middle of squatter riots and demonstrations, the young, idealistic detective Judd Cox (Waldemar Torenstra) begins working at the police station in the city’s centre. His partner, Tonny Montyn (Tygo Gernandt), who was born and raised in Amsterdam, makes Cox familiar with the streets around the red-light district.

The two detectives stumble upon a criminal conspiracy that turns out to be part of a larger plan. Then Cox gets assigned a new partner, Andy Ruiter (Yannick Jozefzoon), who is transferred from another part of the city.

In the meantime, Amsterdam is being flooded with heavy guns and the police force isn’t ready yet to fight organised crime. Not all detectives can be trusted. The crimes are turning more violent, the pressure is high, and a wrong decision can easily be made.
