With much of the country housebound, pets have become a major source of comfort during the coronavirus lockdowns. While animal adoptions sky-rocketed during the initial lockdown period, many pounds are now bracing for a spike in capacity as people begin to return to work and normal life. So, what happens to these seemingly disposable companions? We meet the people working to give pound animals a second chance at life before their time runs out.
