Airdate: Christmas With The Salvos

Samantha Jade, Adam Goodes and Fast Ed feature in a TV special for a good cause.

Christmas With The Salvos will air on Seven next week.

The 30-minute special features Salvation Army ambassador / singer Samantha Jade, AFL legend and S.T.A.N.D. ambassador Adam Goodes and Better Homes and Gardens chef Fast Ed.

Samantha Jade said, “I was thrilled to be on the South Coast with The Salvos to give back at Christmas. It was lovely to connect and share with Leisa, Sara and Brett”.

“As a Salvos ambassador, I know how much they do to bring hope to people, particularly at Christmas.”

“The Salvos with the support of Woolworths were there on the ground helping families through the bushfires. The trip was an opportunity to come back and hopefully put some smiles on people’s faces”, said Adam Goodes.

Fast Ed added, “No matter where you are in Australia, there’s a Salvos team when you need them. The Salvos team on the South Coast have done a great job.”

‘Christmas With The Salvos’ features three families on the NSW South Coast who were devastated by the Black Summer Bushfires earlier this year. Since then, the families have battled through COVID-19 and even floods.

In the special, Leisa, Sara and Brett share of their own experiences living through the horrific bushfires, what the recovery phase has looked like, how The Salvos ongoing support has helped and how they are feeling about Christmas and 2021.

Samantha Jade, Adam Goodes and Fast Ed joined forces with The Salvos to give back and spread some hope in time for Christmas.

During the 30-minute TV special, there will be tears, laughter, a few surprises which all culminates in a festive Christmas meal.

S.T.A.N.D (Support Through Australian Natural Disaster), is the natural disaster relief partnership between Woolworths and The Salvation Army. S.T.A.N.D ambassador Adam Goodes was keen to visit communities devastated by last summer’s bushfires and see how they were coping.

At Christmas, The Salvation Army will distribute more than 30,000 hampers and vouchers, give out more than 500,000 gifts and toys and support more than 50,000 families in need. The Salvos will also provide more than 130,000 meals, more than 65,000 beds for those who need a place to stay and provide more than 7,600 families with accommodation during the festive season.

To leave no one in need this Christmas, please donate to The Salvation Army’s Christmas Appeal by visiting salvationarmy.org.au or calling 13 72 58.
