Adelaide’s annual Christmas Pageant drew a very big crowd last month, becoming the No.1 non-sport program of the year locally.
The event hosted by Nine’s Kate Collins and Brenton Ragless pulled 166,000 viewers -higher than The Block, Married at First Sight and MasterChef.
This also marks the first time a locally-produced show has secured the #1 non-sport program of the year in Adelaide.
Normally the streets are lined with 350,000+ people to attend the pageant, but due to Covid, only 25,000 were allowed at Adelaide Oval, leading to a much bigger viewing audience.

I have made it a tradition to watch this every year have ever since it used to be shown on ABC in the 80s. When it is being shown in the rest of Australia on Channel 9? Sometimes it is on Christmas day but sometimes earlier. I am not keen on watch it via streaming as I know there are lots of ads. If you know or could find out it would be great.
