Former Supernatural star is recreating a role originated by Chuck Norris.

The first image of short-cropped Jared Padalecki in costume for the upcoming reboot of Walker, Texas Ranger appeared online late last week.
The image features the former Supernatural star alongside guest star Deke Anderson on set in Austin, Texas, and appears to have originated on Anderson’s IMDb page (oops?).
The series sees Padalecki as Cordell Walker, “a widower and father of two with his own moral code who returns home to Austin after being undercover for two years, only to discover there’s harder work to be done at home. He’ll attempt to reconnect with his children, navigate clashes with his family and find unexpected common ground with his new partner (one of the first women in Texas Ranger‘s history), while growing increasingly suspicious about the circumstances surrounding his wife’s death.”
Chuck Norris starred in the original series from 1993-2001, which also had a 2005 telemovie.
Given this is produced by CBS Television Studios it would doubtless be suited for 10 BOLD.

Stan posted on their Facebook page in October that this will stream in Jan. Did 10 pass on this?
It will be interesting to see how they reboot this as I have watched some of the original series and it does go for a traditional view of Texas whereas Austin is famous for being pretty cosmopolitan, a little hipster and “keeping things weird”. I do hope they celebrate these characteristics of Austin in the reboot.
I will be on Amazon Prime Video
Looks good. Hope it does come to 10 or 10 Bold.
