Renewed: The Handmaid’s Tale

Hit series is renewed for a fifth season ahead of its fourth hitting screens.

The Handmaid’s Tale has been renewed for a fifth season.

The cast made the announcement on social media today.

Season 4, which consists of 10 episodes, was halted due to the pandemic, but is recently resumed production and will screen on SBS in 2021.

“We’re very grateful to Hulu and MGM that the show will be returning for a fifth season, and especially to our loyal fans for their support,” said showrunner Bruce Miller.

“We are thrilled to be able to continue to tell these stories, with our incredible cast and crew, and can’t wait to be back on the air with season four next year.”

  1. The comparisons with Vikings (which I haven’t watched since the end of S4) are fair. Agree that the third season wasn’t as compelling and that another — potentially — 40 episodes to take us through to a seventh season conclusion is a step too far. A S5 conclusion feels about right.
