SBS, Alan Jones settle legal case.

SKY News presenter and former radio host Alan Jones and SBS have settled a defamation lawsuit with SBS over a report on The Feed earlier this year.

Jones alleged the show wrongly painted him as a racist, a misogynist and a liar, across reports from Cronulla Riots to COVID-19.

The Age reports a statement issued by Jones’ lawyers, Gillis Delaney said the veteran broadcaster was pleased proceedings had resolved by agreement on a number of terms, including that the segment is permanently taken down, “avoiding the need for the delay and costs of any final hearing.”

SBS said in a statement that, under the terms, the network and Alex Lee were not required to provide an apology or financial compensation.

“SBS is pleased that this matter has been resolved,” the statement said.
