Will Tom Gleeson be the last person to win a Gold Logie?
Reigning champ two years running, and it suits TV's king disrupter.

With no Logies in 2020 and TV Week now owned by ARE Media, could Tom Gleeson be the last ever person to be awarded a Gold Logie?
That’s a question TV Tonight posed to him this week…
“Maybe, that’s not up to me, it’s up to TV Week and the new owners whether they want to keep having that great event,” he replied.
“I’m happy to keep turning up and promote it for free on the ABC.”
In mid-year organisers said the event would return in 2021.
Meanwhile Hard Quiz has an upcoming Christmas special with kids as contestants and more episodes set to film.
“We start filming the new season in a week.”

It would be the perfect way for the Logies to go out, really.
mocking the logies is nothing new. What about when Norman Gunston won in 1976. And he had a noose to tie the gold logie around his neck.
And Scott Cam ruined his Logoe and turned it into a bottle opener….
Ricky Gervais has been doing a similar thing for years also
Tom Gleeson turned it into a fools gold shonky.
He does not deserve another logie. He should be banned from nominations.
Why, he has a very high rating program and is very funny and popular.
Tom put the life back into the Logies. Hope he wins another one.
I do hope that the Logies do return in 2021 in some capacity. Yes, the awards have been going downwards over the last few years. But having not many entertainment type shows and ad nauseam of reality shows doesn’t help. Not many entertainers around these days to be up for the Gold Logie.
They must have filmed nearly a year’s worth of episodes of Hard Quiz in the first two months of the year, it’s been running all year with only a brief break. I keep thinking this must be the last one and find to my delight it’s not.
When you have someone win by mocking the system it’s kinda the end of that era really, but the Logies have slowly gone down hill since the late nineties, there’s no variety entertainment and skits anymore. It’s a long boring night for viewers. An overhaul is needed. Half Of Fame needs to include more people each year and maybe needs to be its own event.

We can only hope.
