The early move paid off…
I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here has delivered a rare winning night for 10, with the show’s best launch since 2018.
1.03m metro viewers watched the “Opening Night” portion of the show with 914,000 for “Welcome to the Jungle.” Both are up on 2019’s 980,000 / 873,000 and it more than doubled the nearest competition.
10 won Sunday with an impressive 30.5% network share, also its highest commercial share since January 2018.
On an otherwise quiet night 10 also led the demos and drew the biggest live stream audience for the ITV Studios Australia show.
Another celebrity enters the ‘jungle’ tonight, rumoured to be ex AFL player Robert DiPierdomenico.

This goes to show that there is an audience out there begging for new content, an audience that simply does not just disappear because it is not the ratings period.
Best of luck to Ten in making some cash out of this acheivement.
*day (typo)
I loved it. So happy finally something is on free to air.
I just didn’t know who the last three people were, the first six were great, though I don’t really like Jack very much. Jess, Toni and Mel were very entertaining so I hope they stay I even didn’t mind Abbie I don’t watch the show she comes from.
I also didn’t really notice much difference from it being live to not being live. Obviously the African crew with Julia and Chris is missed but aside from that aspect not much has really changed, yet.
Looking forward to the rest of the season.
Must be so much more economical to film it in Australia. Why would they bother going to Africa.
Africa was chosen partly because Aussies are supposedly less threatened by our creepy crawlies. But also African crew is cheaper.
No way! Give me a Lion or Tiger at arms length vs our deadly Funnel Web or Inland Taipan snake or Crocs any way!!
and for the live time difference
Isn’t it something to do with the time difference too? Works in the shows favour to be able to film challenges and do evictions during daylight?
I thought that was one of the reasons the UK version films in australia versus south africa
I miss the live element of the show being in South Africa. Looks like we won’t get to vote on Tucker trials or who gets voted out. That’s one of the best things about this show.
Actually preferred it Australia than in Africa. Great scenery of Australia as well. Helps promote us as a nation.
I agree. More laid back.
