Foxtel appoints new Marketing boss

Hilary Perchard to succeed Kieren Cooney, overseeing Customer, Marketing & Revenue areas for Foxtel.

Foxtel has announced Hilary Perchard as Chief Customer, Marketing and Revenue Officer, following Kieren Cooney’s decision to join TPG Telecom as Group Executive Consumer.

Cooney was appointed in October 2018 succeeding Chief Marketing Officer, Andy Lark.

Perchard joins from global interactive entertainment company, Activision Blizzard, where he was Chief Revenue Officer. He was previously President, Strategy, Revenue and Marketing, Digital and Direct-to-Consumer exec at FOX Networks Group in the United States and led the customer marketing, customer retention, loyalty, product management, and product marketing team Sky UK.

Chief Executive Officer, Patrick Delany said: “We are pleased to have an executive with Hilary’s experience and track-record join us to build on the progress we’ve made in maintaining Foxtel as Australia’s premium subscription television service.

“Since joining us two and a half years ago, Kieren has played a key leadership role in re-setting the strategy for our premium Foxtel business, transforming the operating model for sales, service and marketing and putting in place an outstanding team. Foxtel is stronger today, delivering a better proposition to our customers, because of Kieren’s contribution and I thank him for his support.

“Hilary’s appointment provides an opportunity to build on the momentum we have created with a fresh, international perspective that continues to deliver our loyal, premium customers the best of TV and on-demand, all in one place.

“Foxtel remains our core business within what is now a much larger, more diversified media company. This includes our rapidly growing Kayo and Binge streaming services and our successful advertising business, Foxtel Media. Hilary will have end-to-end responsibility for all customer interactions, including Foxtel residential and commercial sales, customer service, loyalty, creative services, marketing and publicity.”

He is expected to join in March.

  1. Yes Marketing is important.. but you need a really good, unique and now current form of TV….

Streaming. App streaming on Apple TV for example. The best was Hulu + Live TV.

On demand programs, Live streaming (In HD!) and with DVR function.

Only way to win the market back and take some market share from the others! Time to play catch-up but if hey succeed they’ll be playing with the big boys.
