Netflix is promising new movies every week across 2021.
This year’s line-up include films from Jane Campion (The Power of the Dog), Paolo Sorrentino (The Hand of God) and Adam McKay (Don’t Look Up).
We’re bringing you a year of films filled with more of the things we know our members love – zombies (Army of the Dead), cowboys (The Harder They Fall, Concrete Cowboy), and high school romance (including the culmination of the To All the Boys and The Kissing Booth trilogies).
Also coming are teen screams (Fear Street trilogy, There’s Someone Inside Your House), books into films (The Woman in the Window, Munich, The Last Letter from Your Lover), blockbusters (Red Notice, Sweet Girl, Kate) and family films (YES DAY, Back to the Outback, Finding ‘Ohana).
Stars include Leonardo DiCaprio, Sandra Bullock, Dwayne Johnson, Idris Elba, Meryl Streep, Zendaya, Jennifer Lawrence, Ryan Reynolds, Jennifer Garner, Gal Gadot, Dave Bautista, Naomi Watts, Jake Gyllenhaal, John David Washington and Octavia Spencer filmmakers Zack Snyder, Nora Fingscheidt, Joe Wright, Antoine Fuqua, Shawn Levy, Robert Pulcini and Shari Springer Berman plus the directorial debuts from Halle Berry and Lin-Manuel Miranda.

The big spending Netflix has made a rod for its own back really, their subscribers will come to expect ever varied quality releases on a regular basis from now on.
I agree with Jezza, but lets not forget that Netflix originally a DVD movie rental service, it now contributes to developing new streaming technology and releases increasing amounts of Dolby Vision and UHD content.
Personally, I would rather Netflix ceased paying big dollars to actors like Dwayne Johnson etc. and just make top quality movies and shows.
I note that recent Netflix price increases in the UK were because Netflix needs to recoup local content costs, Australia should watch out.
I find Netflix films can be very hit or miss. There are some good ones and also abysmal. The budgets can be quite decent, but I always ask myself how I would feel if I had paid to see it in a cinema
I find I get really good value from my subscription – i don’t get to as many titles as i would like. Yes, i would not pay for a full ticket for a lot of it – but for 11 bucks per month, i find it the best value entertainment option. Much more variety than Foxtel which I have supported continuously for 20 years.
