Cairns Taipans meet The Hawks in Cairns this Friday.

The 2020-21 NBL Season will tip off on SBS VICELAND on Friday with a blockbuster double header to open the season.

Last season’s finalists, the Cairns Taipans, will meet the new look Hawks led by recently returned master coach Brian Goorjian. This will be followed by reigning champions the Perth Wildcats taking on Melbourne United as they begin their campaign for a third consecutive title.

SBS is the free-to-air home of basketball in Australia, with the 2021 National Basketball League (NBL) season, and the 2021 National Basketball Association (NBA) and Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA) seasons.

Friday, 15 January
Cairns Taipans v The Hawks, Cairns Pop-Up Arena, 7.30pm
Perth Wildcats v Melbourne United, RAC Arena, 9.30pm

Saturday, 16 January
Brisbane Bullets V Illawarra Hawks 5:30pm

Sunday, 17 January
Adelaide 36ers V Melbourne Phoenix, 3pm

All times are AEDT and games will be broadcast live on SBS VICELAND and streamed live on SBS On Demand.

  2. Just a heads up that the Wildcats v Breakers game isn’t happening. Both teams got caught in the Brisbane lockdown and while the Wildcats are returning home they have to quarantine for 14 days.
