Actress best known for Babylon 5 and Lost, has died.

Actress Mira Furlan, best known for Babylon 5 and Lost has died, aged 65.

She died on January 20, however the cause of death has not been revealed.

Babylon 5 creator J. Michael Straczynski, wrote online, “It is a night of great sadness, for our friend and comrade had gone down the road where we cannot reach her. Mira was a good and kind woman, a stunningly talented performer and a friend to everyone in the cast and crew of Babylon 5, and we are all devastated by the news.”

The Croatian-born actress played Ambassador Delenn in Babylon 5 for five seasons and a recurring role as scientist Danielle Rousseau in Lost.

In the former Yugoslavia she starred in numerous plays, TV series and films, including the Palm d’Or-winning and Oscar-nominated 1985 film When Father Was Away On Business.

Her series credits also include Just Add Magic and Spider-Man: The Animated Series.

  1. A great pity-I well remember her from the Yugoslav productions on SBS in the 80s before her stellar turn in ‘Bab 5’-shall have to get the box sets out. RIP Madam.
