Not to be confused with the Edward Woodward original, 2021 US crime drama The Equalizer begins next Wednesday on Nine.
The series is a reboot of the 1980s original and now stars Queen Latifah in the title role. The cast also features Tory Kittles, Adam Goldberg, Liza Lapira and Chris Noth.
This has just premiered in the US on CBS.
Episode 2 screens the following night -a note that the timeslot will shift for episode 3 given Amazing Grace moves into 9pm Wednesdays.
This action-packed reimagining of the classic series stars the multi-talented Queen Latifah as Robyn McCall, a mysterious former CIA operative who draws upon a vast range of skills to defend innocent people in desperate need of a helping hand. Robyn may appear to be an ordinary single mom who is busy raising her teenage daughter. But when injustice arises, she takes covert action as The Equalizer, an enigmatic vigilante who evens the odds and brings justice to those who need it most.
9:15pm Wednesday on Nine

What has happened to the Equalizer..no ep tonight?
Nine as usual who are poor at consistent programming with US shows
Does any one know when it is showing on Nine again? I am in Queensland and it was suppose to be on 9 tonight at 915pm after amazing grace, but it is not showing on the tv guide. Any information will be helpful. I love QUeen, massive fan of hers. And I am really into this show after seeing the first 2, last week. Help please.
Thursdays 8:30 now.
Count me out or call me sexist but the female reboots just don’t cut it. Ghostbusters, Oceans 8 etc. Latifah is a great actor but this won’t fly.
CBS owns TEN but Nine gets this show. We must be missing something.
What you’re missing is the distributor. It’s never the broadcaster…
I usually don’t like the female super ex cop/agent thing but I really like this. I like her two friends also, not too over the top.
You had me at Queen Latifah. Shall give this one a go.
I’ve watched the first two episodes and have found them to be pretty solid with a good ensemble. Queen Latifah seems a little unbelievable when it comes to her action sequences, but strong acting otherwise.
The first episode was brilliant we have seen shows like this before but I am in for this …. a successful remake…
