Allison Langdon recuperating after surgery

It will be 5 weeks before Today host can put weight on her leg.

Allison Langdon is currently recuperating in a Sydney hospital after surgery on Monday -but it will be five weeks before she can put weight on her leg.

Langdon injured her right knee after landing badly while filming a segment for Today on the Gold Coast last Thursday.

“I have a nice amount of metal in my knee now and have to wait a further five weeks before I can put any weight on my right leg,” she wrote for a Today newsletter.

“Patience has never been a strength of mine so let’s see how we go.

“I’ve been overwhelmed by all the lovely messages and just want to say thank you for all the love,” she said.

“I can’t believe what looked like a pretty innocent fall has resulted in such drastic injuries.”

She is hoping to head home soon to be with family.

“COVID rules mean they haven’t been able to visit me in hospital. It’s unfortunate but I understand why the rules are in place.”

She added, “Thank you to the gorgeous Leila McKinnon too for stepping in and doing an amazing job in the chair.”

Get well soon…
