Does 10 plan to screen Showtime content?

New Showtime titles fall under ViacomCBS for Paramount+.

By mid year ViacomCBS Australia will launch Paramount+, a rebranding of 10 All Access.

As part of the new look streaming service, 10 gets new Showtime produced titles (previously a deal Stan held).

But is the network tempted to put any of the content onto 10 itself?

Network Programmer Dan Monaghan tells TV Tonight, “I think the Showtime product will live solely on its home on Paramount+. We will obviously take all of the library and all of the upcoming new titles for Showtime onto Paramount+. But I wouldn’t see them coming across to Channel 10 at this point.

“All Access is being rebranded in the markets it exists, including Australia. So in this country we will rebrand it mid year to Paramount+ and on that date the new content will launch.”

Paramount+ content and a launch date are yet to be confirmed.

  1. Anyone else remember the days when 10 took the risk of premiering Homeland I think on a Sunday night? From memory I believe the early seasons were ratings successes. Unfortunately since then though the market has changed and overseas programs just don’t rate as well (perfect example being Homeland’s later seasons being picked up by SBS because it was no longer viable for 10). So although I too would like to see more premium US content on FTA I just don’t see it happening.

  2. I’d be interested to see if the linear 10/MTV/Nick/CC channels appear on P+.

Kind of like what Binge do or even what 10AA do with that weird news channel that nobody watches.

  3. My question is will they end up getting all the Paramount movies overtime? And what about Paramount TV shows like Yellowstone, that are currently on Stan, will eventually shows like that up end up on this new streaming service?

    1. The rule of thumb is that where a show premieres it will continue, so Yellowstone should continue to premiere on Stan. If production ends and it is rebooted years later (such as Prison Break) it would move. There may also be second windows such as 10 All Access having former Survivor seasons. Movies are not a lifetime deal, so yes they would eventually move across. Hope this helps.

  4. They should put some stuff on 10 peach. From midday to midnight 7 days a week it is just Everybody Loves Raymond, Frasier, Becker, Friends, Big Bang Theory, Two and a Half Men, The Middle, 2 Broke Girls, Medium and Neighbours. Does CBS/10 just not care about peach anymore? even just repeats would be better than the same 5 shows every single night.

Eleven use to be my favourite channel when it had single episodes of old sitcoms that hadn’t been on tv in years. I haven’t even watch a single second of it since the name change and even before that.

    1. Yeah I agree with everything you said. Everybody Loves Raymond, Frasier and Becker have been on that channel for way too long. In fact I think Raymond has been on there non-stop since the channel began in 2011. Friends, Big Bang and The Middle have been brutality repeated even before they came to 10Peach

    2. I miss it when it was a youth channel they had shows like the loop dating naked simpsons etc amazing idents and yes old sitcoms like what you guys said (wasn’t big on them though) now it’s just a crap repeat sitcom channel but the youth don’t watch tv anymore so there you go

  5. Also curious as to Paramount Pictures titles (which I believe are licenced seperately to CBS shows) which might explain my question, wonder if 10 will end up getting exclusive rights to Paramount movies (be it Paramount+ and/or Network 10)?

As rights are currently spread across all networks, Seven/Nine/10/SBS. Always been an odd studio vs the others in terms of these deals.

    1. If Australia’s version of Paramount+ is part of the ViacomCBS global streaming network pricing should be comparable to Apple+.
The debate about having too many streaming services is a moot point as global streaming is becoming a lucrative source of profit for most TV and movie industries.
