Eureka to produce Frogger for USA

Australian Exclusive: Classic 80s game to be supersized on a giant obstacle course in Sydney, for NBC-owned Peacock.

Australian Exclusive: Australia’s Eureka Productions (Holey Moley, The Amazing Race Australia, Name That Tune, Crikey! It’s the Irwins, Drunk History Australia) will film another larger-than-life physical game show for the USA, based on iconic 1980’s video game, Frogger.

Production will take place in Sydney in May on a huge purpose-built obstacle course, to screen on NBC-owned Peacock streaming service.

Audiences and contestants alike will be transported into a wild, whimsical Frogger world, comprising twelve outrageous obstacle courses or “crossings.” Physically-demanding challenges will see contestants dodge treacherous traffic, leap over snapping gators and hop over hungry hippos to conquer the course.

13 hour-long episodes have been ordered with contestants to include US expats based in Australia.

Produced in conjunction with rights holders Konami, Frogger is based on one of the most classic and beloved video game franchises of all time.

      1. Regardless of what else is said here, this comment wins the thread!

That said, I think this sounds so ridiculous, it’ll be brilliant. But once a week, please!

  1. Seriously though, would be great companion programming for 10 Wednesday nights once The Cube finishes its run @7:30..or maybe a good intro for Gogglebox on Thursday’s… infrastructure will be there, so just need a host and limit it to 8 episodes. What’s Grant doing in June ?
