  1. The home page includes a byline for this post with “an upset for morning tv”. Am I missing something – was there some dramatic event? I can’t see any reference in the story.

  2. I expected Gogglebox to improve much more (and Bondi Rescue & Territory Cops to be a better lead in…Ambulance did better last week). Have a feeling that many people might have recorded or will watch on catch-up.

  3. Always read your ratings report each day David. Thank you.

For some reason, today I clicked on the OzTAM overnight figures and noticed that there are figures for News at 6PM and at 6.30PM for both Seven and Nine (as you list each day). In both instances the 6.30PM figure is higher than the 6PM figure, naturally. But, why are they allowed to do this? Surely an hour news program should be coded as an hour? I guess next we’ll have 15 min figures! Desperate for more money I guess??

    1. Ha, don’t get me started. OzTAM has a minimum which I think is about 15 mins (but even this can get ignored), it does not insist one show = one coding. Remember that networks own OzTAM. I seem to recall it stemmed from Seven News 1hr going up against Nine + ACA so they split an it snowballed from there. Curiously the 1hr weekend news does not split (10 splits 90 mins). The second half hour does not always rate higher, it flips and flops.
