UK crime drama The Bay has been renewed for a third season …but there is a cast change.

ITV and Tall Story Pictures announced that Marsha Thomason (Cobra) will join following Morven Christie’s (pictured) decision to leave the show. She joins as as Morecambe CID’s new Family Liaison Officer, DS Jenn Townsend.

Reprising their roles are Daniel Ryan, Erin Shanagher, Thomas Law and Andrew Dowbiggin.

ITV’s Head of Drama, Polly Hill said, “We are delighted with the audiences’ response to The Bay and look forward to them meeting DS Jenn Townsend played by the fantastic Marsha Thomason, who joins the team in series 3.”

Executive Producer, Catherine Oldfield says, “Daragh and I couldn’t be more delighted by the audience response to The Bay. That ITV have recommissioned the show is fantastic and to get a talent as bright and brilliant as Marsha to lead the new series is beyond exciting. We can’t wait to get back to Morecambe to start filming again in that beautiful part of the world.”

Seven is currently screening S2 on Wednesdays with the final two episodes next week.

  1. Good to hear there will be a 3rd Season. One of the better recent UK Crime dramas.
    Morven Christie has been excellent in the lead role so disappointing she is leaving.
    Don’t understand why 7 is burning this show off in double eps though.
