Stan Sport launches with Rugby double-header

Stan Sport launches today as an add-on package for subscribers with the Super Rugby.

Coverage of the doubleheader starts from 6:45pm AEDT Friday ad-free, live & on demand with St.George Queensland Reds v NSW Waratahs at Suncorp Stadium, Milton, QLD. Western Force v ACT Brumbies follows at 10pm from HBF Park, Perth.

It marks a first for Live sport streaming on a general entertainment streaming platform.

Meanwhile a weekly live show hosted by Roz Kelly, Rugby Heaven premieres next Tuesday at 8pm AEDT.

Stan’s add-on sport package will feature the Super Rugby AU, Super Rugby Aotearoa and Trans-Tasman tournament along with the Rugby Championship, Bledisloe Cup, Shute Shield, Hospital Cup, Currie Cup and New Zealand’s National Provincial Championship, plus Super W, Wallabies and Wallaroos test matches, SANZAAR Union home tests and more.

It retails as a $10 a month add-on to existing Stan subscriptions, with a 30-day free trial for a limited time.

    2. It should be shown by Channel Nine as they are promoting their association with Stan who share the RA rugby union broadcast deal with Nine, including free to air broadcasts, which RA wants.
      Nine broadcast the Waratahs vs Reds game on free to air on Friday, something that has been long overdue for union.

  2. On closer inspection it shows the local time lower down below the preview write up. But the bold most noticeable part is ‘Coverage begins 9.30pm(AEDT)’. Strange, it should just show the local start time full stop depending on where you’re located. I’m in WA so the AEDT has no relevance to me or people in QLD/SA/NT etc.

    1. Get this oversight fixed Stan. If Stan plans to increase its sports coverage having the correct time for Australian time zones is essential.
      Hopefully, Stan will be looking ahead at separating Stan Sports from just being an add on, we’ll have to wait and see, this is a significant investment by Nine and Stan.

  3. Can already see a flaw on Stan Sport. It doesn’t show the local start time for games only AEDT. Really big oversight that needs to be fixed! Kayo shows all games local start times.
