Australian singer & actress who found success acting in the UK and USA has died.

Australian singer and actress Trisha Noble who had pop hits in the 1960s and found success acting in the UK and USA  has died, aged 76.

She passed away on January 23rd, having battled mesothelioma for the past 18 months, just days before what would have been her 77th birthday.

Born Patricia Ann Ruth Noble in Marrickville, daughter of Lancelot “Buster” Noble she rose to fame as a teenage singing star in the 1960s under the name Patsy Ann Noble.

She made regular appearances Bandstand with songs “Busy Lips” co-written by Peter Allen and “Good Looking Boy.”

Noble won the ‘Best Female Singer of the Year’ Logie Award in 1961, then travelled to London where she was given a two-year contract with Columbia Records. There, she released “Sour Grapes”, “I’m Nobody’s Baby”, “Accidents Will Happen”, “He Who Rides a Tiger.”

In 1965 she made her acting debut in Britain’s The Snowball followed by Danger Man, Callan and films such as Death Is a Woman and Carry On Camping.

In the US she guest-starred on Buck Rogers in the 25th Century, The Mary Tyler Moore Show plus roles in Columbo, Baretta, Executive Suite, The Rhinemann Exchange, The Rockford Files, Strike Force.

She returned to Australia in 1983. appeared in the miniseries Body Business, Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones which was cut from the final film – but included on the DVD release. Stage credits included Dusty the Original Pop Diva, Pippin, Sweet Charity and Ladies in Black.
