Not taking anything away from Mystery Road or Aaron Pedersen’s performance (fantastic series and Aaron is compelling to watch), but how does this qualify as an international series? Filmed and set in Australia with a 99% Australian cast, and from what I can see, produced by an Australian production company. So, what am I missing here?
I suspect shows which screen internationally are eligible.
The Queen’s Gambit was a fantastic series and a worthy winner also enjoy Schitts Creek but think it’s a tad overrated.
Is that Mr. Levinson (Jim’s dad) from American Pie?
I am so delighted to see international recognition for Aaron Pedersen and Mystery Road. He’s a terrific actor and community leader.
I really like Aaron Pederson, but best actor in a series for a year? No, just so much no.
Not sure how Aaron is even eligible to be nominated, let alone win this category? It’s the International AACTA’s so no Aussie shows or actors (performing in Aussie shows/films) should be eligible, that’s what the standard AACTA’s are for?
Schitt’s Creek has become a global sleeper hit! Reminds me of so many recent global phenomenons that started quietly and then exploded to become some of the biggest of all time. Not saying Schitt’s is that scale, but you know what I mean.
Liked Catherine O’Hara since her early movie starring roles dating back to the 80s (even before Home Alone) and Eugene Levy is prolific (American Pie an obvious famous one) so good.
