Airdate: To the Stars: 100 Years of the RAAF

ABC still hasn't settled on a programming plan for Mondays.

ABC still hasn’t settled on a programming plan for Mondays having elbowed Q+A to Thursday nights.

Next week we get To the Stars: 100 Years of the RAAF.

Sure history has its place on TV but I doubt this will be anywhere near as entertaining as Justine Clarke’s Australia, Come Fly with Me on SBS.

As the Royal Australian Air Force marks its 100th anniversary we look at the illustrious history of the RAAF, through rare archival footage and in-depth interviews with air force veterans, servicing members and new recruits.

9:35pm Monday on ABC.

  1. ‘Entertaining’ is not the sole function of the ABC but also informing on and commemorating important national events such as the 100th anniversary of the foundation of the Australian Air Force (later granted the ‘Royal’ title). The title of the doco is part of the motto of the RAF translated to English and other related air arms of the British Commonwealth (RAAF, RCAF, RNZAF etc)-‘Per Ardua Ad Astra’=’Through Difficulties To The Stars’.
