Cast announced for Obi-Wan Kenobi

Ewan McGregor, Hayden Christensen & Joel Edgerton are back in the Star Wars franchise.

Cast have been confirmed for upcoming Disney+ special event series Obi-Wan Kenobi.

Ewan McGregor stars as the iconic Jedi Master, with Hayden Christensen back in the role of Darth Vader.

The story begins 10 years after Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith where Kenobi faced his greatest defeat, the downfall and corruption of his best friend and Jedi apprentice, Anakin Skywalker turned evil Sith Lord Darth Vader.

Also featuring are Aussies Joel Edgerton (who has previously played Owen Lars), Bonnie Piesse plus Moses Ingram, Kumail Nanjiani, Indira Varma, Rupert Friend, O’Shea Jackson Jr., Sung Kang, Benny Safdie and New Zealand’s Simone Kessell.

The series is directed by Deborah Chow, director of two episodes of The Mandalorian, Season 1.

Obi-Wan Kenobi is executive-produced by Kathleen Kennedy, Michelle Rejwan, Deborah Chow, Ewan McGregor and writer Joby Harold. The casting director is Carmen Cuba.

Production will begin in April.

    1. Here’s hoping, but the main drivers of that were Jon Favreau & Dave Filoni. Unfortunately, I do not see their name in the above article. Hopefully, their magic rubs off on Kathleen Kennedy.

        I hope all the best, there’s just been so much incompetence in most things Star Wars outside the Favreau verse. The latest books have a character which is literally just a rock. Not like the Thing from Fantastic Four where it’s a rock person. It’s literally a rock. You can’t tell it’s not a rock, but apparently it is a navigator. The novel then hand waves how it does that away.
