Netflix to screen The Circle, Too Hot to Handle in weekly episodes

Nothing to binge here...

Netflix will abandon its traditional binge approach when it returns reality shows The Circle and Too Hot to Handle to screen.

Instead The Circle will release the first four episodes in April followed by Too Hot to Handle in June.

April 14: Episodes 1-4
April 21: Episodes 5-8
April 28: Episodes 9-12
May 5: Finale

“We can’t wait for our members to see what’s in store in their second seasons. We’ve added new twists and surprises to keep the games fresh — and all new players that we think fans will love rooting for,” Netflix said.

“We’re also experimenting with the release format so you have time to dissect and dish on every step of the competition as it unfolds. We’ll debut several new episodes at a time on Wednesdays beginning with the first four episodes of The Circle on April 14. Once The Circle wraps in May, Too Hot to Handle takes over in June.”

Although Netflix releases weekly episodes for shows which are not Netflix Originals it is far more rare to hold back shows it owns outright. Other streamers including Disney+ and Apple TV+ have also released weekly episodes.

  1. I’m sure this is the same approach they took for the first seasons of both shows too. I remember waiting from week to week to get my fix once I’d caught up on the episodes as they dropped.

    1. This would be the US season, the article mentions it’s the second season, the current UK season is well into series three following the conclusion of the UK Celebrity Circle the other week.

    2. It is the US season. Channel 4 in the UK holds exclusive rights to the original UK version so it will never be on Netflix. The Celebrity UK season had just finished in the UK, the regular season has started and is 8 episodes in.
