Nine wraps Q1 with dominant lead

Ratings: Nine has its second best ever start to the year in demos 25-54 & 16-39 since OzTAM began.

Nine has claimed its biggest ever lead in Q1 demos over rival networks.

Buoyed by Married at First Sight, the Australian Open at the same time as Holey Moley and Ultimate Tag failed at Seven, Nine also has its second best ever start to the year with the key demographics of People 25-54 and 16-39 since the inception of OzTAM 20 years ago.

Here’s how the Q1 Total People numbers stand:

Nine: 30.1
Seven: 25.9
ABC: 18.3
10: 17.5
SBS: 8.2

Meanwhile last week was another Nine win as we head into 2 weeks of Easter non-ratings.

Nine led 16-39 and 25-54 demos.

Nine led Sunday – Wednesday while Seven won Thursday – Saturday. ABC bettered 10 on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday & Saturday.

Nine won Sydney, Brisbane & Adelaide. Seven claimed Melbourne & Perth.

Best brands last week were:

Nine: Married at First Sight (Sun: 1.12m), Nine News (Sun: 1.05m), A Current Affair (662,000) and 60 Minutes (587,000).

Seven: Seven News (Sun: 1.06m), Inside Chernobyl (567,000), Seven’s AFL (Fri: 545,000) and Home & Away (529,000).

ABC: Four Corners (709,000), ABC News (662,000), Australian Story (643,000) and Hard Quiz (635,000).

10: The Amazing Race Australia (Mon: 532,000), Gogglebox (509,000), The Sunday Project (7pm: 435,000) and 10 News First (338,000).

SBS: Great Australian Railway Journeys (243,000), Australia in Colour (192,000), The Secret Life of Lighthouses (173,000), Inside the Orient Express (171,000).

  1. Honestly haven’t watched anything on Nine bar the tennis or even other networks for that matter bar sport and a couple of shows here and there. It’s just a very uninteresting year of television.
