Troy Cassar-Daley who will perform his hit songs Back on Country and The World Today.
Paul Murray said: “What can I say about Queensland? I adore this place! To have the Our Town show make its way up to this incredible town, the gateway to Queensland’s tropical north, and showcase its local stories is a privilege. I’ll be hearing straight from the people about what needs to be done to get their local sector roaring again.”
Paul Whittaker, SKY News Chief Executive said: “Queensland has been at the forefront of the news cycle during the COVID-19 pandemic, with the key tourism destination heavily affected by the absence of local and international visitors due to border closures.
“Businesses in Cairns and Far North Queensland have been desperate to stay afloat, and now with the Queensland Premier announcing a second snap lockdown in Greater Brisbane just days before the busy Easter holiday period, this Our Town episode explores whether or not the Federal Government’s support package will be enough to help these regions get back on their feet.”
During the program Paul will explore the holiday incentives on offer to Queenslanders, including the Tourism Tropical North Queensland’s Cairns Holiday Dollars as well as the half price airfares available to Australians from April 1.
Paul also looks at how the town is coping following the chaos caused by the stop-start border closures, as well as the long road of recovery ahead for businesses and industries hit hard by the recent floods and Tropical Cyclone Niran.
