The Equalizer has been renewed for a second season.
The rebooted series, based on a 1980s series starring Edward Woodward, sees Queen Latifah as Robyn McCall, a former CIA operative who defends innocent people in need of a helping hand. It has been drawing around 11m total US viewers.
“The Equalizer has proven more than equal to the task of engaging viewers and racking up wins on Sunday night,” said Kelly Kahl, president, CBS Entertainment. “We’re extremely proud to see this outstanding broadcast drama, led by Queen Latifah, punch through the competitive landscape and return for a second season.”
It screens in Australia on Nine.

I’m still giving it a go, but haven’t quite bonded with the show just yet, Seems a bit lighter than the original but hopefully develops a bit more as we get further beyond the process of pilot/introduce characters/set up backstory/etc. Might also be intended for a slightly earlier timeslot/audience.
My biggest issue is that they should have thrown some $ in the direction of Stewart Copeland for the original theme music.
It doesn’t seem to matter how good or bad a show is or how many people watch. Got to have content for the streaming services…
9pm Monday on CBS is hardlly just fodder for streaming. Networks cancel shows when an average replacement is likely to do better, and there aren’t many new shows doing better than 8m in the Overnights these days. It had big fall for Ep 2 because the pilot had a leadin from The Superbowl.
Saw the promos for this during the tennis and nearly vomited.
Consult a doctor?
yep, he said don’t watch bad acting. seems to be working so far.
