Sunrise lifts with Sam’s farewell

Ratings: Gogglebox tops entertainment. Nine wins Thursday.

A mega-farewell for Sam Armytage saw Sunrise lift its numbers yesterday to 308,000 metro viewers,

That was effectively 100k ahead of Today‘s 209,000 and News Breakfast on 99,000 / 82,000 across two channels.

In primetime Gogglebox was the top rating entertainment show, and topped the demos, at 554,000 followed by an extended Home & Away at 494,000.

7:30 won its slot at 513,000 then Back Roads (469,000), Territory Cops (397,000), Bondi Rescue (351,000) and The World’s Greatest Palaces (148,000)

Nine’s NRL coverage drew 463,000 / 15,000 across Nine / 9GEM.

Nine network won Thursday with 27.1% then Seven 26.3%, 10 21.4%, ABC 16.7% and SBS 8.5%.

Nine News was 822,000 / 810,000 for Nine then A Current Affair (525,000 in 4 cities) and Hot Seat 386,000 / 245,000.

Seven News was #1 at 904,000 / 893,000 for Seven. The Chase was 453,000 / 285,000 the Wife Swap Australia (262,000) and Ant Middleton & Rebel Wilson: Straight Talking (172,000).

The Project pulled 361,000 / 225,000 for 10. 10 News First was 295,000 / 182,000 for 10. A Royal Fallout Special drew 276,000.

ABC News won its slot at 586,000. Q+A (292,000), Sammy J (274,000), One Plus One (176,000) and The Drum (155,000) followed.

On SBS it was The Diagnosis Detectives (165,000), SBS World News (164,000 / 147,000), Shadowplay and Mastermind (both 77,000).

Bluey wagged the multichannel tail at 175,000.

  1. ‘Shadow Play’ on SBS 1 doesn’t seem to be doing very much for them considering the promotion it a gets-seems to be a close copy of the classic ‘The 3rd Man’ but set in Berlin rather than Vienna. The lead character’s unshaven look is utterly absurd for a man of the period of his position ie NYPD detective.
