Andrew O’Keefe facing extra charges

Case surrounding former Seven host returned to court this morning.

Former Seven presenter Andrew O’Keefe has had two extra domestic violence charges levelled against him.

The Sydney Morning Herald reports police allege he assaulted his partner Orly Lavee three times in two weeks.

O’Keefe was initially arrested in the early hours of January 31 and charged with common assault. Waverley Local Court was today told two additional charges have since been laid relating to an incident at Randwick on the same night, and at Kangaroo Valley on January 20.

An application to have his original charge dealt with on mental health grounds is yet to be heard. His lawyer has also disputed the facts.

Andrew O’Keefe did not appear in Waverley Local Court today with Magistrate Ross Hudson saying he had received a medical certificate indicating Mr O’Keefe was currently an inpatient at The Sydney Clinic.

Seven parted ways with O’Keefe last December with Larry Emdur since announced as a new host for The Chase.

The matter will adjourned until June 25.
