Don’t we have digital channels for a reason ? So we can pick and choose what we want to watch ?
So why not this scenario last night – abc cuts to Breaking News Phil is dead for a 15 minute bulletin then tells viewers on main channel the coverage continues on abc news so switch over or stay put if you want to continue watching Vera ,one of the Princes favourite shows ( ok I made this up ) ..but why force viewers into not having a choice and force fed ?

  2. Still can’t quite follow the logic of why ABC feels they need to simulcast ABC24 on ABC2 and ABC20. Surely a crawl on 2/20 such as ‘HRH Prince Philip has died. Full coverage on ABC24’ would suffice? Not being disrespectful to Prince Philip, as I did switch to ABC24 at end of an old L&O SVU then went surfing to see who else was doing what.

  3. I think all 363,000 Vera fans went to Twitter last night to vent that their show was cut short to simulcast ABC News. Although I assume the WA viewers were actually those watching the simulcast.

    • Yes Vera was only on for about 15 minutes or so when the ABC cut it off without warning to do the death of Prince Philip, for hours I must say. We changed the channel after an hour. So just about all those ratings will be for the news bulletin for him. My he rest in Peace.
